Tune came to me as usual. From years of living in WV, I knew a lot of miners, respected and played a lot of parties for them. I, however, never stepped foot in or near a mine. But this is a tune for them...

Really good friend of mine loved this tune as it reminded him of his father. I played it for him so many times when we got together. Then one day my young friend while on his way to the hospital, where he was working, wrecked his car never came out of his comma and passed on. So this is another tune that when I play I think of my dear friend Curt.

Weird tune- I started writing just because the Bank of Wichita Falls had a poetic/tune ring to it. But the more I got into it and the more I researched the history the more easier the tune was to write because it had such an abundant amount of history and truth to it. Went from a simple idea of a tune to a ballad.

Sitting around watching the games and listening to some of the plays between a few guys and ladies in a club one night. This tune was done by the time I got home thanks to my cell phone and my answering machine.

This tune is based upon the misconception of what is normal. I know that I would have been the poster child for Ritalin had it been around in my school days. But then I have to wonder would I still have turned out this crazy creative songwriter had I had the benefit of a better world through chemicals?

My Grandma always lived by the rule never go to bed angry, I am sure this had to cause her many sleepless nights. But that was her motto. This tune has much deeper feelings for me since realizing that when we simply say good bye see you later, that the later never returns. So to prevent my own selfish guilt I try to leave on a good note under good terms with folks.

So many tunes have been inspired by my life and of course my wife. This tune was actually a collaborated effort with my wife and me while spending a rainy day at the Merle-Fest

After seeing the effect on the local textile mills here in NC then reading about how we are losing factories and dreams everyday throughout our country. It leads me to write this tune

Many fans look at this as being my best tune. I don't know how I feel about this. It is a tune that is about the harsh reality of another war we seem to be losing.

This tune is just a simple tune about an ex-simple president and his band of merry men. Again how some people hide behind the flag and the Bible to justify their greed, needs, wants and vengeance? Hey it's a free tune!!!!

Yeah, it's a dance tune! Says a lot about how little a man may stoop to get what he wants.

After watching my granddad sitting up at night with his Black Lung disease, or remembering my Granddad who could work Sun-up till sun-down when I was a child, then later have to take a break every 5 ft to catch his breath. He passed away, but I had a chance to live with him as a man to man and speak about his life and the changes he went through. Then after he passed on my Uncle who worked the shipyard all his life and was just a down right GREAT guy in my eyes ended his last days struggling for his breath, because of asbestos, which slowly debilitated him. This tune will always give me visual memories when ever I perform it, no matter how many times I do it. This tune speaks of the lack of caring towards the hardworking employees at the expense of the greed of the corporate hounds.

Actually the tune was inspired by a WWII pilot who was a crop-duster. But remembering the days of my youth when we would go to Atlantic City and my fascination with the Skywriters. It gave me a chance to combine both admiration and respect for our fighter pilots. But with a dab of my anti-war feelings, one night we were performing this tune and for some reason I used a small bit from Pete Seeger's tune. So it felt good, caught on, and then when I recorded this tune I ended up paying Harry Fox a few bucks for a few seconds. Oh well!!

Have no idea where the idea came from for this tune. Other than one of my Uncle's best friends' name was Welford, as in Welford’s Hill. The saving up to put something special on his daddy's grave in the tune did not even connect until I realized that in the end when he died on his fathers grave that he "Paid the on the promise"

This is a tune done with Tom after SFTG was released. However I added to the digital CD. It's a tune about hope and promise of the new administration more of a Yes we can or else tune. It got that 60's field and concept to it was going to be my first video but it’s hard to find trains and hippies now days....

Another tune don at Tom Eure after SFTG. This tune was done because I wanted to write an anti-war song that would be for me the anti-war to that would address all wars non-specific to a particular war but the entire stupid ideas and the true enemies of war. Those who call for the war don't always suffer the consequences.
